We're Back!

We've now been back from New York for two weeks and our feet haven't properly touched the ground.  We've been so busy that I have totally abandoned my blog and I am truly ashamed!

However, I am happy that I've been able to do lots of other important things recently such as playing with the kids, reading and scrapping.  Scrapping is so much fun at the moment because, of course, I have lots of lovely photos of our amazing super duper honeymoon in New York.

You cannot begin to imaging how fascinating this place is.  It is so busy and bustling and interesting.  There are always things going on and there is so much to explore that one week is simply not enough.  On a slightly downside, it is absolutely exhausting.  We saw so much of the City but we were very tired at the end of every day and slept like dogs.  We probably walked around 8 to 10 miles every day!  Here are a few photos:

So now back home and back to the all too familiar routine.  I have lots of layouts planned for my many many photos.  My husband took hundreds and hundreds of photos which got a tiny bit waring at times although now I appreciate it as I've got some amazing photos to use.

Over and out for now but hopefully will be back on this week!

And Finally

I've finally had a chance to catch up with some scrapping.  I've been taking part in Scrapagogo's Blueprint to Go which is a monthly sketch that goes with the monthly kit.  This is for November 2011's kit:

The next is from the December Blueprint to Go:

Lately I've also been trying out different styles.  I've been wanted to do some layouts that have lots of white space.  I love this look but find it difficult as there is always so much I feel I need to put on the page.  Here goes:

Five weeks to New York - too excited for words xx

New York, New York!

Okay I didn't want to start it yet but I can't hold out any longer ..... I have begun the count down to our honeymoon in New York!  I am so very excited that I can hardly stay still.  I feel like life's in limbo until we get there and begin our holiday.

I have wanted to go to New York as far back as I can remember so for our wedding if our guests asked what we would like as gifts we asked if we could have travel vouchers (very controversial wedding subject!).  We were very lucky to receive enough to purchase flights to New York which was unbelievable for us.

There are many reasons to visit New York but one of the best for me is ...... scrapbook shopping!!!! Of course.  I have a few addresses for scrapbooking stores, including Michael's.  I cannot wait.

I would welcome any suggestions/ideas from anyone who has been to New York for places to visit, restaurants to eat at etc etc.

Sewing machine (love it) post coming soon.

Yay!

Finally finally I've got a sewing machine!  Yay!!!!!!!!!!

I've been wanting a sewing machine for such a long time now and I happened to pop into Lidl yesterday morning and they had a SilverCrest machine for sale at £59.99.  After a lot of thought and some forum searching I decided to get it and it's great.

Small problem - I have no idea how to set it up and use it yet (oops) but I plan to have my mother-in-law round to give me a lesson.  I'm allergic to reading instruction manuals.  I can't wait to get some stitching onto a layout.

Watch this space xx

New Year, New Pages

Technically these layouts were done late last year but hey ho it's nice to put something up given that I've been away for a few weeks.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year and enjoyed the celebrations to the full.  Even better I hope you've managed to get some fantastic photos to scrap.

I've started a new album.  We've, finally, got ourselves a new Paperchase store in Plymouth and it so happens that they sell these fab A5 Kraft folders all ready to decorate.  Better still they also sell A5 pockets and A5 pockets divided into two 6x4 photo sections.  I've already begun a new 2012 album which begins, of course, at New Year's Eve.

Happy Scrapping

Rolling, rolling, rolling

Well, I'm on a roll. I have made another layout which is totally my own.  I'm trying not to use sketches so much so that I can actually feel good to say that something truly is my own.  I've recently learnt to make accordian fan flowers (if that's what they're called) and I think I have a new addiction.  They are so very easy to make (although I think I may have to purchase a score board) and you can use scraps of paper to make them.

Here is my latest creation:

I have used Scrapagogo's fantastic October kit for this layout and I am truly in love with Crate Paper Random products.  The papers are so beautiful and coordinate brilliantly.  I've now purchased the whole Random set so that I can carry on using it.

After tidying my scrapping space so well, I thought I would show you some pictures.  The pictures make it all look very cramped but it's not so bad really.  I am very lucky to have such a space as I'm sure a lot of people end up on their laps or the dining room.

In this picture you can see my accordian fan flower attempts so far.  I love these so much.  They are very easy to make and you can get a free lesson on You Tube too.  The added bonus from making them yourself is that you can embellish them as you wish.

Thanks for stopping by xx

New Stuff

After giving my creative scrapping space a good spring clean, I just couldn't wait to sit in this area of tidiness and do just that, create.  This first one is from Shimelle's Sketch of the Week:

I love doing layouts from sketches and I've been making myself do a layout without following a sketch straight after, otherwise I think sketches can get a bit addictive.  So this layout was the one I completed straight after.

Another two layouts that I have completed recently.  This first one is also from Shimelle's Sketch of the Week back in September:

And the final one is from a Shimelle Starting Point which I think was from back in September although I'm losing track!  Erm, what did I say about sketches being addictive!

I am going to promise myself to blog more - I will, I will xx
